A message for our customers from the owner...

It was December 1983 when Le Papillon was first run by us in East Barnet Village. In February 1992 Papillon Restaurant was opened in Potters Bar High Street and last, but by no means least, Papillon at The Woodhall Arms in Stapleford was created and developed into an Inn and Restaurant that we have run for the past seventeen years.

It is, therefore, with great sadness that we announce as from 29th August 2015 Papillon will fly away and close the doors for the last time so that we can have a well deserved retirement.

It has been an honour and pleasure to have served so many wonderful people, of whom a great many have become very good friends.

We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers for your loyal support all these years.

About us...

The Papillon Restaurant was first established in the 1970's in East Barnet Village, North London. Later moving to its current location in Stapleford, Hertford. The name 'Papillon' is derived from the French meaning 'Butterfly'

We have been providing quality food at the Woodhall Arms for more than a decade until our closure in august 2015

We are now enjoying a much deserved retirement after many successful years of trading.

Wine & Dine
The Restaurant...

We served English and Continental dishes, a large selection of fresh fish, as well as vegetarian options.

We also catered for large parties and special occasions with set menus available on request all dishes, freshly cooked to order.

Only produce of the highest quality used on all our menus, we maintained this high standard for more than 40 years.

We are also very proud to have held an extended world wide wine list with our monthly wine and dine evenings.

The Woodhall Arms InnThe Bar...

A welcoming atmosphere for a quiet drink during the week or buzzing and warming at weekends.

We stocked many varieties of well cared for real ales, including all the regulars such as Young’s and Greene King’s IPA.

We also served a traditional bar menu which provided you with a good choice whether it was for a light snack or a good old English pub lunch or evening meal.
